The Baby Boomers -- The Generation That Wasn't Allowed to Cry

"The men coming home went back to the job they left. No PTSD. Home on Sunday, business on Monday, back at their old job on Tuesday.

I had four uncles who were alcoholics. They were hard workers, drinking after work and on weekends. The grass was cut, car was maintained, rooms painted, etc and didn’t miss work.
When I grew up I realized they were not lazy. They were self-medicating for depression, to ease the trauma of war. No one talked about the horrors they had seen, done."
